After volunteering with Raleigh International in Tanzania, Rob Candy is getting ready for his biggest challenge yet: walk the 3000 km length of New Zealand’s Te Araroa trail in pursuit of social change.
Rob, accompanied by friend, Joss Smale, aims to raise NZ $30,000 to aid the lives of 30 young people from Kenya and Tanzania through two charities close to his heart.
Rob’s chosen charities, Raleigh International and People, focus on sustainable development and eradicating poverty respectively.
The trek is expected to take around five months. The pair will take on some of New Zealand’s toughest terrain, and in part skirt the Pacific Ring of Fire.
