Useful Resources for Walking in Aberdeenshire

 

Walk Highlands - offers extensive information on walks in the 6 areas of the Highlands. Simply slick on the interactive maps to narrow down your region: Angus, Cairngorms National Park, Moray and Nairn, Banff and Buchan, Huntly and Stonehaven. Walks are graded using a simple walking boot key (1 = easiest), detailing distance and time to complete.

The Forestry Comission - here you can find a list of 42 woodland trails inthe Forests of Moray and Aberdeenshire. including coastal woods along the Moray Firth, the mountain of Bennachie, the pinewoods of Upper Deeseide or the woods surrounding the city of Aberdeen. Each walk has a detailed key to show exactly what is on offer.

Walking Scotland - the site has short descriptions on more than 60 moderate and longer walks for North East Scotland, including the Don and Findhorn rivers, the Findlater Castle and the old Desside railway line.
