National Trails Day - Recap
Saturday, June 5, 2010
It was a great National Trails Day celebration on Saturday, June 5, 2010 here in Modesto. Over 100 volunteers worked shoulder to shoulder and got their hands dirty cleaning up the Virginia Corridor trail. For the first time ever, we held a Volunteer Appreciation Festival in Roosevelt Park and could not have done it without all the people and companies that made this event happen:
- PMZ Real Estate
- Kindred Canines Dog Rescue
- Valley First Credit Union
- Don’s Mobile Glass
- Surla’s Restaurant
- Prime Shine
- Cen-Cal Beverages
- Neil Buettner
- Willey Printing
- Qdoba
- Salvation Army
- Stanislaus Association for the Education of Young Children (SAEYC)
Close on hand for the festivities were Modesto Nuts mascot, Al the Almond, and Modesto Irrigation District mascot, Splasher. With all the fun, the food, the people, and the hard work, one morning made a huge difference in our community! Be sure to check out the pictures of the event and we look forward to seeing you on the trail again soon.
