The Altitude Pro RGS Waterproof is a men's walking boot packed with technology.

Fully waterproof with a 2.2mm full grain oiled leather upper and abrasion-resistant heel and toe-cap, these boots are surprisingly lightweight. The PU footbed and midsole ensure superb underfoot comfort, stability and durability, while the rustproof metal hardware will hold up all year round. The boots also have a soft cushioning collar and inner lining making them even more comfortable.

What really makes these boots stand out above the rest is the Vibram Rolling Gait System (RGS) which is proven to reduce muscle fatigue. Vibram has performed extensive research to prove the curved shape of the sole supports the natural movement of the foot whenever it impacts with the ground. So whether you’re running or walking this innovation helps to keep your movement fluid, reducing ankle muscle strain and fatigue therefore reducing overall joint strain. The boot is also fitted with a Vibram rubber outsole for world renowned traction and durability.

Ready to take on varied terrain and extreme weather conditions, this boot is ideal for explorers who want an innovative, well-built performance boot for some serious hiking.

Looks the part, acts the part.
by Craig Garrington
I purchased these boots as some colleagues and myself were planning to climb mount Snowdon and I was in need of a replacement pair.

My initial draw was the look as I feel they really do look the part; rugged and durable. This ended up being exactly what they were... Read More when it got to climbing Snowdon. They were also really comfortable, I had been wearing them for about 9 hours altogether and didn't get a single blister/cut. I even managed a little trail running in them due to my confidence in the boots.

I was also sold on the features of the boots, the rolling gait and vibram soles really made a huge difference. I can also confirm the waterproofing works, I had tested them out in some muddy bogs over Hadleigh Castle and then through numerous puddles and even the lakes in Snowdonia.

I plan to use these for some more adventures this year with a trip to Scafell Pike and Zion National Park in Utah. Hide

Bought as additional pair to my other Hi-Tec boots and trainers, all used for long walks and cannot fault any,the wife has just ordered a pair of sandels,Can only pass on that all walking attire from Hi-Tec can be worn straight from the box,are really comfortable and do what they... Pleasantly Surprised
by Andrew Peace
I grew up in an era when everybody and their dog wore Silver Shadow trainers and Hi-Tec were one of the great British sports shoe manufactures. I never saw them as a walking boot manufacturer and I think brand snobbery has sometimes pushed me towards other footwear brands over the... Read More years. When I got these I was really surprised by the quality of the leather and the new RGS Vibram sole looked completely different to anything I've seen before. They seemed to fit Instantly and coupled with my [branded] insoles felt like slippers !! The first trek out saw me and a friend take to the Peak District on a 9 miler.....without breaking them in at all !! We encountered some really wet grass slopes that day and the boots seemed to lack real purchase but maybe I'm just trying to pick fault as looking back no boot could have gripped on what we found. The second day out saw me clock up 18 mile in around the outskirts of the town I live in tackling slopes, woodland, bog and road and it honestly felt like I'd not got boots on....the RGS is class !! Several trips later and loads of sticking my feet in water, mud and general British countryside muck I have never once felt they wouldn't be up to the task....feet have always been bone dry and really really comfortable. The only negative I have is the RGS system doesn't allow for a high heel and you may miss that although at the moment I haven't. Well done Hi-Tec.....well done indeed :0) Hide
Comfy, light, waterproof and REALLY grippy!
by Paul Cowland
I have very strange criteria for my boots, as unlike you proper ‘crag rats’ out there, the chances of me hiking up some far-flung mountain any time in the near future, unlike me, are pretty slim. What I do need my boots to be however, due to a bizarre work... Read More requirement for TV, is lightweight, comfy, and extremely sturdy. It’s rare to get these three things together - as the old adage goes, “Pick any two..”

I ordered a set of boots from the site, which came the very next day.. so we were off to a good start. Without any time to break them in before a 13 hour shoot day in a muddy, slippy breakers yard, I was little dubious about wearing them for such a long time, but, from the second I slipped them on, they literally felt like I had owned them for years. You don’t need to break these boots in, they are light and flexible enough to feel like an old favourite pair from the first day of use.

Better still, they stayed comfy all day long, proving to be more than worthy adversaries for the mud, rocks, stones, bad weather and standing water of our shoot location. Despite this, the soles still retain enough ‘feel’ for driving in, which is great, as we need to keep jumping in and out of cars all day.

In short, my feet were exceedingly warm, comfortable and dry on the very first day of wearing.. Most impressive - and surely, things can only get even comfier from here on in!

Recommended.. and worth stretching the budget a little more for I reckon! Cracking value overall! Hide
