Hi-Tec is a footwear specialist brand and as experts in the business of feet it's no real surprise this boot fits well. It's a slim, streamlined fit and looks flattering despite the rather middle-aged beige colour. It covers the ankle, is nice and lightweight with good cushioning and offers good feel grip so you haven't got that 'slopping around' sensation. I had plenty of room for my toes to wiggle around, but it didn't feel boxy. The Vibram sole also had a pretty good tread but they still aren't for yomping through bogs. The boots feature a small toe bumper which would provide some light protection against loose trails and a very small loop on the back to help get them off. They are waterproof nubuck leather with a synthetic upper and as Hi-Tec uses its own waterproofing technology it's able to keep the boot affordable.
