Reliable Manufacturing??!!

stage where if I go out in the wet I get wet feet! I contacted Hi-Tech about this and the only response I got was that it must be wear and tear! I find this extremely irritating seeing as how these boots cost £100+ and according to Hi-Tech they will wear out in less than 18 months. Although the boots themselves are very comfortable (as they should be at this price) if they 'wear out' in less than 18 months I would suggest that your think carefully about buying them. Hi-Tec response: Hi John, We're sorry to hear you are unhappy with this boot. As our Customer Service Team advised, we offer what we believe is a generous warranty period of 365 days on all our products. Any faults in production would be noticed very soon after purchase, so it does sound like general wear and tear on this occasion. You can see from the pages of previous reviews that the vast majority of customers have been pleased with this boot, and that we have won a Which? Best Buy award for this product, so it's disappointing to hear that you are unhappy with your purchase. Of course we would expect our boots to last much longer than 18 months, but factors such as how often they are used, in what situations, and how the boots are stored and cared for will all affect their longevity. With this in mind, we do recommend our customers use Nikwax products to care for their Hi-Tec boots to ensure they get the best out of them for many years. However, if you feel strongly that there is a manufacturing fault, you can liaise with the Customer Services Team and arrange to send the boots back for inspection. well there are a few reviews elsewhere that record the experience of these boots not being waterproof. mine mirrors that. they failed in the toe (both boots) and arch area (one boot) and let water at the failure points. I wonder therefore if the manufacturing has a high level of consistency and quality checking. Hi-tec customer services were understanding - shame the retailer didn't have the same or better level of care an understanding. Response from Hi-Tec: I'm sorry to hear you have found an issue with these boots. We have been made aware of a very small batch when the boot first launched which had a production fault. This fault has now been rectified and any faulty pairs we have been made aware of have been replaced/refunded. We have received lots of good comments about ion-mask in the past so I hope that this experience does not prevent you from trying a boot with this technology in the future. I'm pleased to hear that our customer services team were understanding (of course, we knew they would be!) and hope the matter has now been resolved to your satisfaction. Hi-Tec truly value all our customers and we will always do our best to resolve any issues that occur. Awesome boots!

As someone with a dropped foot I only ever wear boots so I have been through a few pairs over the years, differing styles and manufacturers. These Hi-Tec boots are by far the most comfortable I've ever worn. They look good also, which means that they an be worn for more... Read More formal occasions, like to the pub after the walk.
