A good all round trail shoe
by Paul F
I like these shoes. Much more comfortable than my Solomon Fellraisers/ NB 110 and good for when I feel I need more cushioning or if I go for a longer run when my form might drop off The tread is good for wet rocks compared to the Fellraisers/ 110s... Read More due to the softer rubber, where it isnt as good is in deeper muddy sections- the tread quickly gets overwhelmed. Dont know what the guy above is talking about- the eyelets are plastic(!). Also the Hitec quick lacing system works well. Another bonus vs the fellraisers is they drain much quicker- in the fellraisers the drainage isnt great and you can be squelching around a while! Main improvement I would make is to keep the shoe absolutely as it is but beef up the tread but still incorporate some soft Vibram to get the grip on wet rock. Hide

Comfy shoes but did not last long
by Michael
I have used them on daily basis for work in lab and in office. Comfy shoes but I did not last long (few months). I have contacted Hi-tech, and they have exchange the faulty pair and took different model.
More suited to smooth trails.

I bought 2 pairs of these shoes at the same time and they are great in most respects: good fit, lightweight, multi-terrain outsole. The only issue I have is that the forefoot protection is not very good. After only a month of wearing the shoes a couple of times a... Read More week, the midsole under the forefoot has gone so soft that you can feel every stone/rock underfoot which can be very painful. I am predominantly a midfoot striker, run at a decent pace and am certainly not a heavy runner but on stonier/rocky sections, these shoes can be very uncomfortable under the forefoot.
Stick to smooth trails/road mix and these shoes are great (and they still look like new after several months running in all weathers)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your review. I'm glad to hear you find these to be a good fit and suitable for all weathers. I'm sorry to hear they are not comfortable on stonier terrains. I will certainly pass this feedback on for future consideration. In the meantime, if you decide to purchase a new pair, I would strongly recommend the V-Lite Infinity Trail. It's waterproof and lightweight like the pairs you currently have, but features a Vibram high performance outsole which provides ultimate traction and protection out on the trails. http://www.hi-tec.com/uk/vlite-infinity-trail-blue-grey-limoncello.html .

You may also like the Nazka 5.0 which features a dual density midsole promoting a midfoot/forefoot strike rather than a heel strike - http://www.hi-tec.com/uk/men-s-v-lite-nazka-5-0-black-clementine.html

I hope this helps. If you would ever like advice on the best pair of Hi-Tec boots or trainers to suit your needs, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Services Team or use our LiveChat function :-)
