It's Day 12 of the “12 Days of Giveaways” contest!
NORTH POLE – Today someone broke into Santa Claus’ workshop and stole a fully stocked gift bag. Several undisclosed items were in the gift bag in preparation for Mr, Claus’ annual trip around the world, according to police from the west precinct of the North Pole.
Officers were called to the workshop at 1225 Christmas Tree Lane at 7:15 a.m. today, police said. A representative of the workshop told police that someone forced his way into the building and stole various items including Santa’s orange Hi-Tec backpacking gift bag filled with new Hi-Tec similar to the one pictured above. This backpack has since been found in Portland Oregon. Authorities are asking that the owner of this backpack filled with Hi-Tec gear come forward to identify the property by Monday, December 19th at 7:30 a.m. PST.
To enter, we need you to identify the contents of Santa’s gift bag by telling us what Hi-Tec gear was in the bag (feel free to browse online at www.hi-tecstore.com to refresh your memory). Please be specific and include sizes in your description to ensure ownership.

Thank you for finding Santa's gift bag! I really need the contents that were in it. The crack of dawn hoodie and the Yeti II are very much needed for this winter season. Thanks so much for doing this!

I hope Santa has given me the MADISON AVENUE DOWN PARKA (60323) and ST. MORITZ 200 (40597) in this backpack. I will thank Hi-tech Santa forever and ever if he grants my wish. I promise I've been a nice girl this year and gone on plenty of amazing hiking trips! :) xo

18 December 2011 Portland Police Bureau RE: Stolen Property – 1225 Christmas Tree Lane, North Pole I read on the http://www.hi-tec.com/us/blog/ website that you were able to recover Santa’s gift bag and a Hi-Tec backpack. On a visit to Portland, I enjoyed hiking and backpacking in and around your area including: Wildwood Trail Forest Park, Herman Creek Trails, and in the eight areas of Mount Hood – Buck Peak, Zig Zag, and others. When you inventoried the contents of the orange Hi-Tec backpack, I am sure you were impressed with the quality of the backpack and all of the Hi-Tec items, and can understand how devastated I was to learn about the robbery. I am hopeful the backpack, you recovered, was meant for me - I have been extremely good this year. Sam’s Christmas Gift List: Orange or Green Hi-Tec backpack Rainier Event WPI (40424) size 7 (equivalent to women’s size 8) Note: I originally asked for V-Lite Altitude Ultra WPI (40087) however, I recently re-injured my right ankle and sent a “revised” list to Santa. Women’s Hiking Socks V-lite Sheba Slide (40347) size 8 A colourful shell – Moonstruck (60316) L or Loon Lake (60336) L Thank you and Happy Holidays! Sam

Portland was just a food stop on our way north for the winter. The white water rafting summer gig lasted until the end of August and after spending all that time and money on gear for our winter stay in Fort Nelson British Columbia it was a damn shame to get ripped off in Portland. (Not that we weren't warned in advance about the rampant elf-thievery in Portland but hey, we thought we were watched over by the gods.) If indeed this is our bag, in it you should find our gear as follows: Ladies V-Lite Hatha Quick-Zip boots 8.5 and the V-Lite Altitude Ultra boots in 8.5 ......also the Moonstruck Parka in Med. My stuff includes the V-Lite Infinity HPi in 11.5 and the Sandstone Peak Parka in XL ......and our pairs of Pour-Off Pant - one medium and one large. I know it was a thrill-steal more than out of necessity as I have heard elves are more of an indoor type than lovers of the outdoors and its sport. Merry Christmas!

Hey, both my wife's and my parkas were in that pack. Mine was a red Sandstone Peak Parka, size medium. Hers was a bordeau Moonstruck Parka, also size medium. Our hiking boots were also in the pack - mine were the Natal Low WP, size 9.5 medium and hers were the Total Terrain Mid WP, size 6.5.

What would I do without my size medium woman's Bordeau Moonstruck Parka and V-Lite Malvern Mid WP, size 6.5? Not to mention my husband's Sandstone Peak Parka, size medium, Roma color and his V-Lite Altitude Ultra WPi boots, size wide 9.5. I'd be so happy if you returned these items to me.

I can't believe that my belongings were actually found. This is fantastic news. In that bag were a few of my favorite pieces of gear from Hi-Tec! I had a Sanstone Peak Parka in Black ( Men's Small) and a Cloud Chaser shell ( Men's small) too. I can't wait to have them back :)
