THUMBS UP: To Modesto-based Hi-Tec Sports USA, for donating 1,000 pairs of men's, women's and children's boots and shoes to victims of the earthquake in Haiti. The footwear is being distributed by Soles4Souls Inc., which also is accepting individual donations of "gently used" shoes for the relief effort.
