Dengie Events 2011

Dengie Events has been set up due to a love of triathlon and a love of the areas in which their events take place.  They aim to put every single competitor at the centre of everything they do, offering all of the facilities and benefits of a large event with a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.  When they put together an event the most important things behind athlete safety are finding the best course, offering the best services and making things as simple and stress free as possible, all whilst maintaining the unique character of the area.  Dengie Events are running three events for 2011.

Maldon Triathlon - Sprint & Standard Distance - 10th July 2011

The first ever Maldon Triathlon took place at Promenade Park on Sunday 10th July.  Over 200 athletes took part, ranging from a large number of complete novices through to experienced age group athletes.  A great day was had by all and after proving an instant success The Maldon Triathlon is sure to grow and grow in the coming years.  Check out the full race report on Tri247 website.

Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon - Middle Distance - 24th July 2011

This brand new Middle Distance event will take place on Sunday 24th July 2011 at Fambridge Yacht Station in North Fambridge (Essex); situated within convenient travelling distance of London and the South East.  It will involve a 1.9km open water swim next to Blue House Farm Nature Reserve on the River Crouch, a 91km cycle course taking athletes into the peaceful Essex countryside and a lapped run totalling 18km based around North Fambridge village with huge support from the local community.

Waterside Long Distance Triathlon - Long Distance - 7th August 2011

This exciting new long distance event will take place on Sunday 7th August 2011 at The Green Man pub in Bradwell Waterside, Essex, and is ideal for anyone stepping up to full distance or in search of a new challenge.  It will involved a 2.8km sheltered open water swim in the River Blackwater, a 122km cycle around the quiet and scenic roads of the Dengie Peninsula, and an inspirational lapped run totalling 30km around the sea wall and marshes passing the historic St Peters Chapel.  The Bradwell Waterside Long Distance Triathlon is sure to become an instant classic!
